Discover the latest Airport Punctuality Awards. We analyzed more than 600 airports and present the world's most punctual airports in July 2021.

After overwhelming feedback on our latest airline on-time reports, we are thrilled to present the most punctual airports of July 2021. We’ve clustered the ranking into four airport categories according to the number of operated flights. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Mega Airports: Airports that handled more than 10,000 flights in July 2021
  • Large Airports: Airports that handled more than 5,000 but less than 10,000 flights in July 2021
  • Medium Airports: Airports that handled more than 1,000 but less than 5,000 flights in July 2021
  • Small Airports: Airports that handled less than 1,000 flights in July 2021

Most Punctual Airports — Mega Airports

Similar to previous airport punctuality rankings, Moscow’s Sheremetyevo delivered an outstanding performance in July. With departure punctuality of 93.4%, Moscow Sheremetyevo wins the title of the world’s most punctual mega airport. Moreover, Tokyo and Moscow are the only mega airports that managed to operate above 90% punctuality. Moreover, from positions five to ten, the airports achieved an average on-time performance of 83% and lower.

Most Punctual Airports — Large Airports

Although there’s no large airport that achieved a better on-time performance than Moscow’s 93.4%, the overall performance of large airports seems to be above the mega airports. None of the airports on the list achieved punctuality below 80% and most of them operated above 85%.

Most Punctual Airports — Medium Airports

When looking at the performance of medium airports, the results are much better compared to large and mega airports. All of the top 10 medium airports achieved an on-time performance of 94% and above. Moreover, Port Moresby, the airport ranked first, achieved an outstanding punctuality level of 98.6%. On top of that, Nagasaki and Dublin both achieved an on-time result above 96%.

Surprisingly smaller airports did not perform as well as medium airports. For example, although Kumamoto achieved an excellent result (95.4%), many other airports performed below 90%.
